Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church for Hilda Imdieke, 85, who died Sunday at Pine Villa Care Center, Melrose. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 tonight and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Melrose. St. Mary's Society, Poor Souls Society, and Holy Rosary Society will pray at 7 tonight at the funeral home in Melrose followed by parish prayers at 8.
Hilda Imdieke was born in St. Rosa to Herman and Bernadine (Toenies) Herkenhoff. After the death of her father, she helped her mother raise her younger siblings. She married Vincent F. Imdieke on Oct. 4, 1939, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, St. Rosa. The couple farmed south of Melrose until their retirement in 1973, when they moved to a house two miles south of Melrose. They moved to Parkview Center, Melrose, in 1999. She has been a resident of Pine Villa Care Center, Melrose, for the past year. She was member of St. John's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Society, Poor Souls Society, Holy Rosary Society, and Catholic Aid.
Survivors include her husband; daughters and sons, Judy Welle of Spring Hill, Barb Rieland of New Munich, Norine Lieser of St. Martin, Daniel of Sauk Centre, Sylvia Lieser of Cold Spring, Rosie Hammond of White Bear Lake, and Jerry of Melrose; brothers, Walter and Bony of Minneapolis; 27 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister and brothers, Eleanor Terwey, Bernard and Robert.
