Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 12 at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove for Vincent Imdieke who died Saturday, October 9 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. followed by the St. Joseph's Men's Society at 8:30 p.m. Monday evening.
Vincent Frank Imdieke was born June 8, 1912 in Grove Township, Stearns County to Henry and Barbara (Van Beck) Imdieke. He was united in marriage to Hildegard Herkenhoff on October 4, 1939 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa. The couple farmed near the Melrose area for many years. In 1973 Vincent retired and continued to help his son on the family farm. He enjoyed driving around to look at crops, playing cards, and going to Charlie's Cafe for dinner specials.
Vincent was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove, St. Joseph's Men's Society and the St. John's Catholic Aid.
Survivors include his children, Judy (Sylvester) Welle of Spring Hill, Barb Rieland of New Munich, Norine Lieser of St. Martin, Daniel (Kathy) Imdieke of Sauk Centre, Sylvia (Ralph) Lieser of Cold Spring, Rosie Hammond of Vadnais Heights, and Jerry (Sharon) Imdieke of Melrose; 27 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; brother, Anthony (Lorraine) Imdieke of Melrose; sisters-in-law, Pauline Imdieke of Melrose and Mayme Imdieke of Greenwald.
Vincent was preceded in death by his wife, Hildegard Imdieke on April 15, 2001; parents; brothers, Edward and Raymond Imdieke; infant twins, Joseph and Mary Imdieke; sons-in-law, Joey Lieser & Giles "Dick" Rieland.
