Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Gerald S. Jerry Tomczik, age 64 of Sauk Rapids who passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Marvin Enneking and Reverend Mr. Frederick Reker will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Assumption Cemetery Columbarium. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Jerry was born on September 2, 1942 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Clarence and Irene (Winter) Tomczik. Following graduation from Cathedral High School Jerry served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He married Judy Fuerstenberg on January 28, 1967 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Jerry was employed by Volkmuth Printers and later by Quebecor Printing in St. Cloud for 37 years. He was a member of St. John Cantius Parish and the St. Cloud Veterans of Foreign Wars Granite Post #428. Jerry was devoted to his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Stephen (Erin) of St. Cloud, Paul (Laura) of Sartell, Christopher (Karla) of Plymouth and Phillip of Duluth; six grandchildren, Zachary, Katherine, Alexander, Franklin, Maxwell and Charles; sister and brothers, Karen (Roger) Janssen of Santee, California, Richard (Kathy) of Boise, Idaho and William (Lynn) of St. Cloud.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
