Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marty at 11:00 a.m. for Lillian Garding, 94, who died Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Friends may call from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid Society will pray the rosary at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 7:00 p.m.
Lillian Garding was born to Mathew and Pauline (Geis) Hennen near Shakopee. She married Marcus Garding on October 11, 1938 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. They farmed near Kimball for many years. Lillian was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marty and was active with the Christian Mothers and the Catholic Aid Society. She enjoyed embroidering, playing cards and solving word puzzles.
Lillian is survived by her children and their spouses, Ron and Bernie Garding of Waite Park, Annabelle Dibblee of Kimball, Beverly and LeRoy Feld of St. Joseph, Diane Spiczka, Audrey Garding, Jerome and Ceal Garding, Richard and Mary Garding, all of Kimball; daughter-in-law, Diane Garding of Kimball; 31 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; brothers and their spouses, Vernie and Eileen Hennen of Watkins, Alvin and Delores Hennen of St. Cloud.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marcus in 1989; son, Lloyd in 2005; sons-in-law, Pat Dibblee and Harry Spiczka; brothers, Albert, Ben, Herbert, Cyril, Elmer and Irwin Hennen; sisters, Caroline Dockendorf, Theresa Loesch, Lorraine Lutgen and Geraldine Hommerding.
