Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 30 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich for Viola Olmscheid who died Saturday, January 27 at Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. St. Leos Court Catholic Order of Foresters and St. Annes Christian Mothers will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Monday evening.
Viola Olmscheid was born March 14, 1925 in Lake Henry to Bernard and Mary (Loecken) Heinen. On June 5, 1951 she married Leo Olmscheid in Melrose. She was a homemaker all her life. Viola enjoyed baking, sewing, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich, St. Leos Court Catholic Order of Foresters, and St. Annes Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Olmscheid of New Munich; children, Duane Olmscheid (Connie) of Paynesville, Judy Olmscheid of Melrose, Jane Jensen (Mike) of Paynesville, Linda Hess (Dale) of Paynesville, and Roger Olmscheid (Jackie) of Pequot Lakes; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Olmscheid (Jerome) of Lake Henry; and sister-in-law, Florence Heinen of Watkins.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Innocent Heinen; sister, Lillian Schmitz; and two infant sisters.
