Services were today at St. Patrick's Catholic Church for Bernard F. 'Tom' Brickweg, 71, formerly of New Munich, Minn., who died Thursday. Interment will be in National Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix. Arrangements were made by Messinger Mortuary in Scottsdale.
Bernard Brickweg was born in New Munich. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He also had been an administrative officer at the University of North Dakota and a personnel consultant for Idaho Employment Service. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He also was chairman of North Tower Butte Water District Board.
Survivors include his wife, Anna F.; sons and daughters, Thomas B. of Anderson Air Force Base, Guam; Timothy R. of Troutdale, Ore., Summer A. Betting of Chaska, Minn., and Michele D. Lacrosse of Scottsdale; brothers and sisters, Herman of New Munich, Minn., Joseph of Coon Rapids, Minn., Marie Christen of Melrose, Minn., Rita Loxtercamp of Meire Grove, Minn., and Florence Schurmann of Sauk Centre, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to the Tom Brickweg Memorial Scholarship Fund UND, c/o First National Bank, P.O. Box 6001, Grand Forks, ND 58206.
