Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2004 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Norbert G. Middendorf, age 73, who died Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Thomas Andert, O.S.B. will officiate and burial will be at Mary of The Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Rockville. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. Monday at Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids. Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622 will pray at 6:00 p.m., followed by St. Augusta American Legion at 6:30 p.m., and St. Augustine's Parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. all Sunday evening at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.
Norbert was born June 6, 1930 in Richmond to Joseph & Catherine (Mandernach) Middendorf. He married Wanda Lee Catherine Ahles on July 24, 1952 at Mary of The Immaculate Conception in Rockville. Norbert lived in the St. Cloud area for most of his life. He worked as a Supervisor of Fabrication at Franklin/Frigidaire for 43 years, retiring in 1991, and also worked part time for Aria Communications in St. Cloud. He is a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Norbert is also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622 of St. Cloud, St. Augusta American Legion Post 43, and St. Cloud Loyal Order of Moose 1400.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda of St. Cloud; children, Norma (Joe) Koshiol of Rockville, Nancy (Eugene) Roehrich of Little Falls, Jackie Middendorf of St. Cloud, Brenda Koshiol of Shakopee, Roxanne Meyer (Donny) of St. Cloud, Timothy (Kay) Middendorf of Buffalo, Joy Wolfe of Milaca, Michael (Deborah) Middendorf of Chandler, AZ; son-in-law, Jeff Steffes of Chaska; brothers, Benedict and Ray Middendorf both of St. Cloud; sisters, Madeline Mehr of Sauk Rapids and Hildegarde Niewind of Paynesville; 23 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Beverly Steffes; son-in-law, Kevin Koshiol; brothers, Alex, Richard, Othmar and James Middendorf; and sisters, Erma Willing, and Mary Ann Mackedanz.
