Martin J. "Bud" Ruprecht
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2007 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Martin J. "Bud" Ruprecht, 82, of St. Cloud who passed away on Friday, October 19, 2007 at the VA Medical Center. Reverend Edwin Kraemer will officiate. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church. The Knights of Columbus Council #5548 will pray at 6:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Bud was born on June 5, 1925 in Eden Valley, Minnesota to Anton and Marie (Schiller) Ruprecht. He served in U.S. Army post-WWII and was stationed in Japan. Bud married Colette M. Sand on November 3, 1951 at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud. He was employed as an Elementary Teacher at various schools in Central Minnesota and for Burlington Northern Railroad. Bud was a member of St. Michael's Parish and the St. Cloud Bishop Zardetti Knights of Columbus Council #5548. Bud had a deep passion for fishing, playing cards, gardening and sports.
Bud is survived by his children, Bill (Sandy) of St. Cloud, Mary Rieder of St. Cloud, Joe (Cathy) of Annandale, Gale (Leon) Koebnick of Hutchinson, Gary (Cia) of San Jose, California, Diane (Dan) Ulmer of Prior Lake, Linda (Andy) Fry of South Lake, Texas; 14 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two siblings, Sally (Jerry) Yunger of Las Vegas, Nevada and Ray of St. Cloud.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Colette on February 4, 2000; and two siblings, Adeline Burnett and James. A special thank you is given to the Staff of the VA Medical Center for Bud's care.
