Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Catholic Church for Alverna M. Enneking, 72, who died Monday at St. Michael's Hospital. Her sons, the Rev. Marvin Enneking and the Rev. Tom Enneking, OSC, will concelebrate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Sauk Centre. Sauk Centre Seniors will pray at 4 today at the funeral home followed by St. Theresa's Mission Group and Daughters of Isabella at 4:30 p.m., Christian Mothers and St. Paul's Catholic Aid at 7 and parish prayers at 8.
Alverna Enneking was born in St. Martin Township, Stearns County, to John and Frances (Hemmesch) Olmscheid. She married Alfred Enneking on May 25, 1948, in St. Martin. The couple farmed in Spring Hill until 1987, when they retired and moved to Sauk Centre. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister, Christian Mothers, Sauk Centre Seniors, St. Theresa's Mission Group, Daughters of Isabella and St. Paul's Catholic Aid.
Survivors include her husband; children, Bob of Glencoe, Lenore Jenc of Sauk Centre, the Rev. Marvin of Becker, the Rev. Tom, OSC, of Chicago, Renee VanDrehle of Spring Hill, and Gene of Cambridge; sisters, Elizabeth Schlangen of Cold Spring, Theresa Schaefer of St. Cloud, Marie Schoenberg and Catherine Primus of Melrose, and Ann Backus of Farming; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gilbert and Nick.
