James M. Nathe

Nathe, James M. age 78, passed away on November 7, 2008 at HCMC surrounded by loved ones. Jim moved to Minneapolis from Madison, MN where he grew up. He worked at the Ford Plant for a number of years. Jim served in the Army during the Korean War as a member of the Army Security Agency. After his discharge, he took over his Dad's business "Jim's Lunch" in Madison.

He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Halvorson. There were five children born to Jim and Bev: Jamie (Havisto), Jeff, Beth, Janet (Fraenkel) and Billy. Also survived by grandchildren, Arley, John, Josh, Mindy, Ashley, and James; great- grandchildren, Isabella and Ireland; sisters, Patricia and Lorraine; brothers, Frank and Nolan; many nieces, nephews and adopted daughters. Jim was a "life member" of the James Ballentine VFW Post. He was the VFW Blood Chairman along with his daughters. He was also a member of the MOC Pup Tent #2 and the American Legion Unit 1.

Jim was welcomed to his new home by parents, Marge & Jim Nathe; his brother, Duane; nephew, Steven; and his son, Billy. In lieu of flowers and memorials, please donate a pint of blood to the American Red Cross in the name of two of the following organizations, VFW #246 MOC #2 or American Legion Unit 1. If you are unable to donate blood, do something nice for someone in need. Join us after the funeral at James Ballentine VFW, 2916 Lyndale Ave. S. (parking in back) for lunch and memories. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
