Betty J. Kracht, 48, of Columbia Heights, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003. A memorial service was held on Friday, Sept. 12, 2003 at St. Matthew's Church in Columbia Heights. Betty dedicated her life to helping people. She touched many throughout her nursing career. She loved to bake and do crafts. She directed the Hand in Hand program and served on the Board of Education at St. Matthew's Church. She also helped out in the Boy Scouts.
She was preceded in death by her husband John; daughter, Sarah; and father, Clarence Berscheid.
She is survived by her son Brian; mother, Viola; and six sisters, Eileen (Roger) Keniston, Bernadette (Vince) Wielenberg, Lois (Greg) Brunn, Bonnie (Jeff) Holthaus, Beverly (Jerry) VanHavermaet, and Joyce (Ken) Beuning.
