The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Lillian C. Nelson, age 88 of St. Cloud will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 20, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Fr. Virgil Helmin will officiate, burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Lillian died Saturday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Friends may gather after 10:00 AM Tuesday until the time of services at the church in St. Cloud. Arrangements are being made by the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Lillian was born May 17, 1918 in Pierre, SD to Andrew and Mary (Helget) Lindmeier. When she was two years old, her family moved to St. Cloud, where she lived for the rest of her life. She graduated from High School and Beauty School. She married Clair Nelson on November 6, 1937 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Lillian was a homemaker and she occasionally worked in retail. She was a charter member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where she was one of the first officers of the parish. She was active in several church and school activities, especially the Girl Scouts of America. She was a past officer in the Daughters of Isabella, a member of the St. Cloud Eagles Aerie 622 and a former member of the St. Florence Mission Group. Lillian and Clair spent their winters in Brownsville, TX and summers at Big Watab lake after their retirement. Clair died on May 18, 1998. Lillian loved to dance, play cards, and visit with her children and grandchildren.
Lillian is survived by her children; Dennis (Judy) Nelson, Goodyear, AZ; JoAnn (Francis) Kremer, Apple Valley; Janice (Richard) Maslonkowski, St. Cloud; her brother Lerenzo Lindmeier, Springfield, MN; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clair; her brothers, Raymond, Erwin and Richard Lindmeier and her sisters; Marie Bielejeski, Veronica Wiehoff and Helen Lindmeier.
