Funeral Service will be 12 p.m. Mon. at St. Johns Catholic Church in Meire Grove for Marcella E. Meyer, 91 who died Thurs. at the Pine Haven Care Centre in Melrose. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Sun. from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and Mon. from 11 to 12 p.m. at St. Johns Catholic Church in Meire Grove. St. Marys Society, Poor Souls Society and Holy Rosary Society will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Marcella Meyer was born on Sept. 2, 1914 in Bluffton Township, Ottertail County to Herman and Gertrude (Breitbach) Imdieke. She was united in marriage to Edwin Meyer on Oct. 27, 1936 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Marcella was a school teacher in the Greenwald and Meire Grove area until retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, St. Marys Society, Poor Souls Society, Holy Rosary Society, St. Johns Catholic Aid and the Homemakers group. Marcella enjoyed gardening and flowers.
She is survived by her children, Roy (Ruth Susie) Meyer of Melrose, Paul (Deb) Meyer of Melrose; daughter-in-law, Martha Meyer of Meire Grove; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wendelin (Lois) Imdieke of Mololla, OR, and Robert (Mary Ann) Imdieke of Elrosa.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin Meyer on Sept. 11, 1996; son, Leon Meyer on June 26, 1998; brothers and sisters, Herman, Ervin and Sr. Leonissa Imdieke, Bertha Roelike and Violette Bayer. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Johns Parish in Meire Grove.
