Alvina E. Zenzen, 94, of Sauk Centre died Friday Aug. 26, 2005, at the St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 29, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider and Rev. Sylvester Kleinschmidt concelebrating. Interment followed at St. John's Cemetery, Meire Grove.
Alvina Zenzen was born Nov. 18, 1910, in Getty Township, Stearns County, Minn., to Herman and Theresa (Petermeier) Schmiesing. She was united in marriage to Andrew Zenzen on Sept. 16, 1946, in Meire Grove, MN. She was a beautician for 42 years in Minneapolis and they moved to St. Cloud in 1987. Alvina moved to Sauk Centre in 2002 and resided at the St. Michael's Nursing Home since December of 2003. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre.
Survivors include her sisters and brother, Lydia Zenzen (Clarence) of Meire Grove, Bernadine Schmiesing of Sauk Centre and Alphonse Schmiesing (Hildegard) of Meire Grove, sisters-in-law, Olivia Schmiesing of Sauk Centre, and Eileen Schmiesing of Meire Grove, and aunt, Hilda Petermeier of Melrose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew Zenzen on June 15, 1993; brothers and sisters, Henry, Ervin and Ann Schmiesing, Agnes Meyer, Clara Clobes and Alma Meyer.
Casket Bearers were Neil Meyer, Dan Meyer, Mark Schmiesing, Robert Brang, Artie Zenzen, and Jeron Meyer. Cross Bearer was Aurelia Schwanke, and Scripture Bearer was Janice Wingate. Gift Bearers were Gerry Winter, Betty Meyer and Eunice Lesser. Funeral Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services in Sauk Centre.
