Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church for Monica C. Leukam, 71, who died Monday at her home.Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sauk Centre.Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. Christian Mothers, Catholic Aid Society and St. Margaret's Mission Group will pray at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre followed by Eagles Auxiliary at 7 and parish prayers at 8.
Monica Leukam was born in Spring Hill to John and Frances (Lieser) Meyer. She married Dillo Leukam on May 2, 1949, in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spring Hill. The couple farmed near Elrosa in Getty Township, Stearns County, for 30 years. They moved to Sauk Centre in 1979, and she was employed as a cook at Trucker's Inn for 10 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Aid, St. Margaret's Mission Group, We Kan Do It Homemaker's Club and Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; daughter and sons, Jane Schurman, Kenny and Duane of Sauk Centre, Don of Belgrade, and Randy and John of Andover; brother and sister, Leander of Richmond, and Mary Ann Gerding of Cold Spring; and 14 grandchildren.She was preceded in death by brothers, Sylvester and Gerald.
