Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church for Raymond Mackedanz, 67, who died Sunday at Paynesville Area Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Cold Spring followed by Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph's Men's Society at 8:30.
Raymond Mackedanz was born in Eden Lake Township to Ferdinand and Theresa (Kunstleben) Mackedanz. He married Lucille Driver on Nov. 24, 1954, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, Roscoe. He worked for Cold Spring Granite Co. for 42 years. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Paynesville Area Knights of Columbus and the Roscoe Sportsmen's Club. He was a past president of St. Joseph Men's Society and was a board member of the Roscoe Recreational Club.
Survivors include his daughters and sons, Tom and Tammy of Paynesville, Ron of Eden Valley, Deb Schmitz and Gary of Cold Spring, Sandy Schwartz of St. Cloud, Tim of Watkins, and Bob, Terry and Don of Roscoe; brothers and sisters, Henry of Paynesville, Gertrude Thomes of Roscoe, Frances Brinker of Cold Spring, and Sylvester of Richmond; 30 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his companion, Marie Vogelpohl of Roscoe.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 22, 1997; infant son, John; and sister and brothers, Theresa Huschle, Ben, Leo, John and Frank. Memorials are preferred.
