Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for Philip F. Sauer, 67, who died Tuesday at St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 tonight at Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and one hour before services Friday at the church in Rice. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Philip Sauer was born in Rice to Thaddeus and Amelia (Schneider) Sauer. He was in the U.S. Army from 1957 until his discharge in 1959. He married Arlene G. Omann on Aug. 31, 1957, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, St. Stephen. He was employed by Great Northern Railroad and later by the Burlington Northern Railroad for 43 years. He retired in 1996. He was a member of Immaculate Conception parish and Great Northern-Burlington Northern Santa Fe Veterans Association.
Survivors include his wife; son and daughters, Sharon Schlangen, Linda Voigt and Kevin of Rice, Karen Dahl of St. Cloud, and Diane Sauer of Novato, Calif.; four grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Claude of Rapid City, S.D., Lawrence of Staples, Joseph of Little Falls, Barbara and Margaret of St. Cloud, and Rose Dullinger of Rockville.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sisters, William, Mathilda Fiedler and Angela Janski.
