Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Edwin Wieber, age 89, who died Saturday at Pine Villa Nursing Home in Melrose. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday and from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Center in Richmond. The St. Catherine's Catholic Aid and Richmond Knights of Columbus will pray a rosary at 7:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m.
Edwin was born in Farming, MN to John and Josephine (Sieverding) Wieber. He married Helen Mehr on September 19, 1939 in St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martin, MN. He was a livestock trucker, a farmer, then after retirement from the farm, he worked at Wenner Plumbing and Heating. Edwin was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Richmond Knights of Columbus and St. Catherine's Catholic Aid.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; children, Fr. Robert of Burnsville, Ione (Jerry) Torborg of St. Cloud, Dennis (Pat) of Appleton, WI, Leon (Diane) of Farming, Carin (Jerry) Schroeder of Richmond, Gary (Lynn) of Elk River and Doreen (Vern) Frericks of Melrose; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Gregor, Lidwina, Loretta, Meinrad, Sylvester and Joletta. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer Society or Sts. Peter & Paul School Endowment Fund. Arrangements with the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.
