LeRoy A. Frericks, age 52 of Melrose, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, in St. Cloud. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.
LeRoy Frericks was born Oct. 6, 1955, in Sauk Centre to Ambrose and Juletta (Eickhoff) Frericks. LeRoy graduated from Melrose High School in 1973. He was a self-employed farmer all of his life. While he was still farming, he went to work at Grede Foundries, Inc. in St. Cloud in 2004. LeRoy enjoyed horseback riding, canoeing, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards, motorcycle riding, watching westerns and spending time with friends.
Survivors include his children, Matt Frericks (Twyla) of Virginia, Julie Rausch (Jason) of Burtrum, and Beth Frericks of Melrose; two grandchildren; mother, Juletta Frericks of Sauk Centre; brother, Joe Frericks (Joyce) of Sauk Centre; sister, Arlene Bowman (Clay) of Sauk Centre; and former wife, Helen Frericks.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ambrose Frericks and brother, Anthony Frericks. Serving as honorary casket bearers will be Al Nathe, Joe Frericks, Lawrence Hollenkamp and Joel Middendorf. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose.
