A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:00 pm, Thursday March 27, 2003 at Diamond & Shannon Mortuary in Garden Grove, California for Tharsilla (Weis) Willenbring, formerly of St. Cloud Minnesota, who died Friday. Also, there will be a mass honoring Mrs. Willenbring at St. Columban Catholic Church Friday, 8:30 am March 28, 2003.
Known as Tharsil, Tharsilla Gertrude (Weis) Willenbring was 93 years old. Tharsil was born July 24, 1909 in Roscoe, Minn., to the late John M. and Anna (Schaefers) Weis. She married Linus H. Willenbring Nov. 25, 1936, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, Roscoe Minn., attended and graduated with a B.S. from St. Cloud State Teachers College where she was also a supervising teacher. Mrs. Willenbring moved with her husband and two young boys to California where she was employed by the Savanna School District as a special education teacher.
Survivors include two sons Joel of Yorba Linda, CA and David of AZ. Sisters, Catherine Coenen, Wiscon., Edith Johnson, Minn., and brother Rainer Weis, Minn. Grandchildren, Mark Willenbring, CA., John Willenbring, CA., and Jodi (Willenbring) Biegel, CA., and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Therese, husband, Linus, brothers, Werner, Carl, Herman and sister Dula Anderson.
