Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Bertha H. Lucken, age 100, who died Friday at the Assumption Nursing Home, Cold Spring. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Cemetery, Richmond. Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Christian Women and Golden Smiles Senior Citizens.
Bertha was born in Munson Township, MN to Henry and Margaret (Koetter) Willenbring. She married Joseph B. Lucken on October 30, 1928 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Richmond. Bertha enjoyed visiting with her family and knitting. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish and Christian Women.
Survivors include her children, Leo (Bertha A.), John (Virginia), Clara Knettle, Lloyd (Frances), Alois (Florence), Louise (Joseph Schwinghammer), Bertha (Michael Stodola), Jane Nesbitt, Valerie Taylor; 37 grandchildren, multiple great and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Irmund and Lawrence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; children, Marilyn, JoAnne Bauer, Margie, Henry, Bernard, Patricia and Frances; nine brothers and sisters. Memorials are preferred to the Richmond Fire Fighters Relief Association.
