Adella Fuchs

Adella A. Wuertz, ge 87 of Lake Henry, who died on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Paynesville Area Hospital in Paynesville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at St. Margarets Catholic Church in Lake Henry. The Reverend Leo Leisen of St. Margarets Catholic was the celebrant. Burial was at the St. Margarets Parish Cemetery at Lake Henry.
Adella was born on July 30, 1918, the daughter of Nicholas and Matilda (Lieser) Fuchs at Lake Henry. She attended school at Lake Henry through the 8th grade. Adella was united in marriage to Elmer Wuertz on June 8, 1943, at St. Margarets Catholic Church in Lake Henry. Five children were born to this union. Mr. And Mrs. Wuertz farmed near Lake Henry until they retired in 1978 and moved into town. This has been her home since that time. Her husband Elmer died on Jan. 21, 1996. Adella enjoyed gardening, mowing her lawn, baking, sewing, quilting, playing cards and scrabble, Minnesota Twins, and enjoying life. She was an organist for over 50 years at St. Margarets Catholic Church in Lake Henry, and was a organist at Assumption Nursing Home in Cold Spring for five years, She was a member of St. Margarets Christian Women, St. Margarets Rosary Society, St. Anns Mission Group, a member of the Stearns County Pioneer Club where she was crowned Queen in 1990, and was an active member with the annual Fall Show in Albany.
She is survived by: four children, Bernice (Gary) Caruth of White Bear Lake, Alvin (Jan) Wuertz of Lake Henry, Kathleen Wuertz of St. Cloud, and Karen (Ray) Stanchfield of Maple Grove, one grandson Nicholas Wuertz of Lake Henry.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Elmer, one son Florian Wuertz, one sister Adeline Binczik and one brother Ernest Fuchs.
