Tom Power's age is 53 in the 1871 Canada Census. Based on this information he was born about 1818. His place of birth is uncertain; he may have been born in Ireland.Marriage
There are conflicting dates for the marriage of Thomas Power and Elizabeth Slade. I have not been able to find an actual marriage registration so am relying on dates listed on birth registrations of their children. Some of these have 18 December 1853 and others have 1 January 1858 (which would be after two of their children were born).Death
After the death of their parents, the children of Tom and Elizabeth Power were raised by Nathaniel Dooks.Endnotes
