Residence
21 Apr 2018: Tina lists Dave's Condo22 Apr 2018: Tina got a call about Dave's condo and we drove over and Tina showed it to this lady - turned out she is the daughter of Jack and Margaret who lived next to Dave when he lived in the mobile home at Redbud on 38th St. The lady made an offer which Dave accepted for $75,000.00
Illness
slipped on ice in front of his garageIllness
Dave called and talked to Tina about 8pm and said he was having trouble breathing - We got in the car and headed to his house - he met us at the door in his PJs with his dop kit in hand and ready to go. Tina drove us to St John's Emergency Room. Dave and I stood at the counter while they checked him in and Tina was parking the car. Tina arrived before they were finished interviewing him. They placed him in a wheel chair and wheeled him to a trauma room and they were with him immediately getting him into a gown and giving him oxygen and attaching monitors, AKG lines, etc - very efficient. We were allowed to stay in the room while they worked on him.We were in the trauma room for a long time - while in there they came in and took X-rays, the emergency room doctor came in - They gave him a breathing treatment and took several blood samples.
While we were in the trauma room they called a code in the room next to us and they sure were scurrying around and they were still working on the person when they took us up to the 4th floor (Cardiac Care Unit) where he was transferred to a bed and a nurse asked him seemed like hundreds of questions. He was next to be moved to the 6th floor. (room number 614)
By this time he was resting and breathing MUCH better - After being assured that he was OK, we headed home and arrived about 130am and went to bed.
The next morning (10 Nov) Dave called to say the doctor had decided to keep him an extra day to wean him off the oxygen, etc.
Illness
Tina took Dave to the emergency room at St. John's Hospital - he had an erratic heart rate and they later found he had a mild case of pneumonia - they gave him medication for both and are going to keep him for a few days.Medical
2 May 2015: Dave called me about 10pm and said he did not feel well and I told him to call 911 an d I would meet him at the emergency room. I arrived and finally found him in emergency room #19 - I stayed with him until they finally admitted him about 330am. When they were taking him up to his room (615) I went home. They Kept him until the morning of 5 May when I took him back to his house.
Tina and her mom and some other women were on vacation in Panama Beach, Florida at the time.
Dave had overdone it on Saturday and was run down. He also had an infection, his blood sugar was high and he was having trouble breathing. I also think he was probably dehydrated among other things.
7 May 2015: Dave fell against a piece of furniture and tore his left arm all up - I cleaned and bandaged the best I could. He really needed to have it looked at by a professional but he refused to leave his house.
11 May 2015: Back to the hospital - this time mild pneumonia and weakness and dehydration. St. Vincent's, Anderson, Room 614.
Medical
Tina took Dave to the Rehabilitation Center, Room 9 on 20 May 2015.Medical
Dave was taken by ambulance (Eaton) from the Middletown Rehabilitation center to St. Johns (non-emergency) - he was admitted and they began giving him intravenous antibiotics for his pneumoniaMedical
Dave was transported from St. Johns to Middletown to the Rehab, room 9Medical
- Had to make a trip to the hospital because the pneumonia is back per anX-Ray taken on 20 Aug 2015.
- Tina stayed with him all day and late in the afternoon they released him back to the Rehab.
- At 11pm Tina got a call from rehab and they want him to go to the hospital - They ended up taking him and they kept him this time - Room 614. Tina got home about 430am.
Medical
Dave is moving from St John's Hospital back to Rehab today about 230pmIllness
Moved from the Middletown Nursing & Rehabilitation facility to his home in Anderson. Tina, his daughter, began staying with him. Tina went back home on 8 Dec 2015.Medical
27 Dec 2016: When Tina arrived at Dave's house she found him laying on the bathroom floor - he had fallen about 1am and had laid there all night until she got there - She helped him up and then she called an ambulance and they took him to the emergency room - it was REALLY crowded and they were there all day - Tina didn't get home until after 8pm - They decided to keep Dave - he had torn up his arm and they stitched that back together and bandaged it. He also had low blood pressure probably from being dehydrated and also a urinary tract infection.- 28 Dec 2016: Dave is going to be in the hospital at least until the end of the week, he is nauseous today and not able to eat - Dave was asleep when Tina first arrived to visit in the afternoon but woke up before it was time for her to leave, he is doing better but had nothing to eat all day, but he is getting liquids through IVs.
18 Jan 2017: Released from hospital and went back home - Tina spent the first few days with him.
24 Jan 2017: Tina called the ambulance about 630 am and they took him back to the hospital. He was not improving but seemed to be getting worse. His arm was healing nicely but he was getting more and more congested and weaker. They hooked him up to IVs filled with anti-biotics for he congestion - he does not have pneumonia. They are keeping him in the hospital again.
Residence
- 4 Feb 2017: Dave was released from St. Vincent's Anderson about 6pm today and brought to our house by ambulance. His hospital bed and oxygen machine, etc. was all here and waiting on him when he arrived. We got him settled in and comfortable.- Tina has slept in the family room with Dave. She says the recliner is quite comfortable and that she sleeps well.
Medical
4 March 2017: about 6pm his nose began to bleed and would not stop - at 9pm Tina called the paramedics and they transported him to St. John's hospital emergency room. They brought Dave back by ambulance about 1230am - We got him all situated and I went to bed. They had inserted a thing in his nose which was somewhat like a balloon which was inflated and went up into his sinus cavities.7 March 2017: Dave was transported back to the Emergency Room at St. John's by ambulance to have the thing removed from his nose. They picked him up at 1pm and brought him back at 220pm.

From WCR, Jr. Journal, 21 Aug 2017:Total Solar Eclipse
: According to the Holcomb Observatory on the Butler Univ. Campus in Indy the Eclipse here was to start at 1258pm and be at totality here at 225pm (91%) and end at 348pm.
it was mostly cloudy, my cereal box pin-hole viewers did not work as advertised so the experience was under whelming at best - at its darkest it was still plenty light enough that no lights would have come on, etc. Would have been better to watch the coverage on TV - I have recorded PBS/NASA coverage that we might watch tonight. I did find it strange that even with 91% of the Sun covered by the Moon it was still so bright outside even with all the cloud cover.
We DID watch the NASA coverage (4.5 hrs worth) and it was not very well done. The main commentators were goof balls and most of what they talked about was not at all interesting. Thank Goodness I had recorded it so I could fast-forward through it and just watch the images of the sun during the eclipse - The program was taking place from Carbondale, Illinois where the totality was to last the longest of anyplace across the U.S. Tina and Dave joined me in the living room and neither of them were much impressed either.
The big thing about this Solar Eclipse as compared to most others is the fact that people in the ENTIRE U.S. could see a part of the eclipse and that the path of totality stretched from Oregon across the U.S. and departed in South Carolina.
Medical
Dave: Fell about 1115pm, and hurt his left shoulder - Tina and I tried to get him up without success. Tina called 911 and a crew of about 5 people arrived along with a medic. They inserted an IV (Pain meds) in his left arm and placed a sling on his left arm to immobilize it. They also placed a neck brace on him. They were able to get him up on the gurney and they transported him to St. Johns Hospital in Anderson with Tina following.Tina said he had fallen in slow motion and she could not get to him in time. His left arm was a total bruise and he had a scrape on his forehead.
He was back via ambulance by 330am - he had fractured his Humerus bone and was in a sling.
Illness
14 Apr 2019: They placed him on a ventilator to help him breath - he has pneumonia and Sepsis -15 Apr 2019:
- Dave's doctor (Dr. Mares) was hopeful they could remove the ventilator Tues or Wed - he thought that his problem was a mucus plug that got caught in his throat -
- His stats are improving - they got him cleaned up today
16 Apr 2019: Dr. Mars said they would try taking Dave off the ventilator this afternoon - They did and he was able to breath on his own
25 Apr 2019: Moved from CCU to Rm 605 (Carolyn is in Rm 610)
4 May 2019: Moved from St. John's Hospital to Countryside Nursing Home about 330pm
5 July 2019: Dave has an epsiode - He was having weird
- 9 July 2019: Brought by ambulance from Countryside Nursing Home back to Middletown to our house.
Medical
The ambulance left home about 1130pm - Dave was having problems of not being able to urinate and had not for at least 24 hours and had not had a bowel movement for 3 days - He was in pain and very uncomfortable.- Email, ID1888, 444am:
A little....they put a cathater is so that helped -
So far we have learned that he has a yeast infection and he tested positive for the B strand of the flu, so they've given him medicine for both of those. Still waiting on the Ct scan results..
- Email, ID1888, 453am:
Just found out that they're going to keep him. He has extra fluid everywhere, so they're going to hook him up to iv lasix to get rid of that and then they're going to start something for the poo....although, he said there wasnt a lot of that in there
