Occupation
During the latter part of the sixties, probably in 1868 or 1869, he left the farm and came to Noblesville to become a deputy in the Treasurer’s office under Frank Dunn, father of W. E. Dunn, president of the Citizen’s State Bank.
He also served in the same capacity while Amasa Hess was treasurer and
then left the court house to accept a position in the Locke and Bonebrake bank, which was located in the building on the southwest corner of the square not occupied by Dorman’s second hand store.
**After working there for a time he was elected County treasurer early in the eighties and after the expiration of his term of office he took up farming again and followed it during the remainder
of his life as long as his health would permit. [1]
