Death of Mrs. Marvin Foulke
Mrs. Verne M. Foulke, 68, wife of Marvin Foulke, well known Hamilton County farmer and former County Commissioner, passed away at the Witham Hospital in Lebanon early Saturday.
Although in poor health for some time, Mrs. Foulke was as well as usual until she was stricken sudeenly Friday evening. Rushed to the hospital, she died soon after being admitted.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the West Grove Friends church with Rev. Paul Hicks officiating, assisted by Rev. Frank Stafford. The body will lie in state at the church for an hour before the services. Friends may call at the Foulke residence, south of Bakers Corner, after noon on Sunday. Arrangements are by the Pettijohn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Foulke was born near Boxley, daughter of Elmer E. and Rilla Wiles Phillips, and was married to Mr. Foulke in 1906.
Survivors in addition to the husband include a son, John Morris Phillips, of Indianapolis; five sisters, Mrs. Dessie Johnson of LaPorte, Mrs. Fannie Lambert, Mrs. Wilma Eggleston and Mrs. Joyce Williams, all of California, and Mrs. Sadie Bardonner of Illinois; and three brothers, Harry Phillips of Sheridan, Rollie Phillips of R. 1, Arcadia and Claude Phillips of Oregon.
