Residence (family)-shared
Some time later the father bought two hundred and eighty-five acres of land in the southwestern part of Jackson township, and there the family made their permanent home. [1] [2]The year 1866 shows the acreage of the Jesse Foulke farm to be 284 acres according to the map below. Also in the 1860s the huge barn on the Jesse Foulke Farm hosted several large meetings and gatherings including some where the subject of Spiritualism was discussed and debated. Other meetings were held in this barn during this period including religious meetings of various kinds. On the opposite side of Anthony Road at the time was located the Mt. Pleasant Church and cemetery where religious gatherings were held. The cemetery remains but the church is long gone. [3] [4] [5]

------------------------------------------------------------------------
25 Jan 2018:
- Page 60, as created by the census taker, lists the place of residence as "Washington Township". Pages 59 and 61, however show the place of residence as "Jackson Township" as it should be. Thus Page 60 is incorrect.
As of this date Ancestry.com has page 60 grouped with images of Washington Township and page 61 grouped with Jackson Township.
-------------------------------------------
I made a correction suggestion to Ancestry.com for the record for page 60:
Jackson Hamilton Indiana Deming rather than Washington Hamilton Indiana Deming
The original data on the record is incorrect.
This image is page 60 and it shows Washington Township, but when you go to page 61 the place is Jackson Township as it should be and so are the following pages. Washington Township is physically next to Jackson Township and this is a understandable mistake that was made by the census taker. This image SHOULD be grouped with the Jackson Township images and NOT the Washington Township images.
