Bio NoteAbout 1954,, Freda was appointed by Governor Burton Cross as the first and only woman recorder of Houlton Municipal Court, and only the second woman appointed in Aroostook County. In this capacity she was authorized to act as judge numerous times whenever the municipal judge was unavailable. With the establishment of the Maine District Court in 1962, Chief Justice Arthur Chapman appointed Freda as clerk of the district. In 1978, Governor James Longley appointed her a lifetime Dedimus Justice.
