According to a news article in the Saint Paul Globe, "the swell party of the season among the ladies was an afternoon reception at the residence of Mrs. Seward P. Richardson, on South Third street, between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Mrs. Gratia Mower and Mrs. W. H. Richardson, of St. Paul, assisted in the receiving of the lady guests, who numbered about 100. the mansion was prettily decorated on the interior with floral designs. Refreshments were served and a pleasant time reported by all who participated."Endnotes
