Greene, March 19 - The death of Horace Scott Parker occurred this morning at five o'clock, coming suddenly, as he went to bed last night feeling as well as usual. He was born July 19, 1843, and has been strong and rugged all his life. Along towards morning he was awakened by a pain around his heart, and before a physician could reach there he was dead. The probable cause was neuralgia of the heart. Mr. Fogg was making his home with John B. Wright on the River Road, this being the old home place, which Mr. Parker sold a short time ago to Mr. Wright. He was born in Greene, the son of Ingerson and Permela Parker, and he had always lived here. His only brother Earl B. died a few years ago. He was a member of the Baptist Church, and it is understood that he has willed his property to this church. He was never married. For fifteen or twenty years Mr. Parker has been almost blind. He was a man respected by all.Endnotes
