Obituary
WINDSOR and VERNON, Conn. - Phebe Eva Grant Moran, 101, went home to her Lord May 26, 2005, at Suffield, Conn. Born Dec. 11, 1903, in East Hodgdon, where she lived until 1950. She graduated from Ricker Classical Institute in 1924 and taught several years in one-room school houses in northern Maine. She also graduated from Boston Bible Training School in 1928 after which she married Manley A. Moran, of Hersey in 1930. After living in Vernon, Conn., until 1969; for 15 years she was curator of Oliver Ellsworth Homestead in Windsor where the couple lived after Manley's retirement from M. Swift & Son, Hartford. She is survived by four children; and was predeceased by her husband, Manley; and one daughter, Virginia. Her surviving children are John Clifton and Marion Moran of Enfield, Conn., Darrell and Carolyn Moran of Dallas, Texas, Ted and Joyce Moran of Bolton, Conn., and Nancy Moran of Windsor, Conn; she is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Jeannine (Marty) deLivron of Avon, Conn., Roger Moran of Enfield, Conn., Rusty (Cheryl) Moran of Windsor, Conn., Andy (Gabriela) Moran of Dallas, Texas, Kim (Bill) Briggs of Bolton, Conn., Jeffrey (Lisa) Moran of Syracuse, N.Y. and Cheshire, Conn., Art (Kristi) Moran of Downers Grove, Ill., Kenny (Suzanne) Moran of Littleton, Albert Moran of Dallas, Texas, and Anthony Moran of Dallas, Texas; 18 great-grandchildren, Jennifer Greenier, Megan Sylvester, Martha deLivron, Ryan Moran, Melissa Moran, Johnny Moran, Amanda Moran, Allie Moran, John Moran, Loryn Moran, Whitney Moran, Kellie Moran, Matthew Moran, Sebastian Moran, Liam Moran, Santiago Moran, Sophia Moran, and Nathan Moran. She is survived by two great-great grandchildren as well, Abby Greenier and Dillon Moran. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Church, 1855 Albany Ave., West Hartford. Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at East Hodgdon Cemetery, East Hodgdon. Her family will receive friends Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Calvary Church, 1855 Albany Avenue, West Hartford, Conn. and/or East Hodgdon Bible Church, White Settlement Rd., East Hodgdon, ME 06047.Endnotes
