Obituary
GREENE, Nov. 3 (Special) - The funeral of A. B. Parker, who passed away at the home of his son Horatio, in Brooklyn, N. Y., was conducted at the Parker homestead at Green Corner on Saturday. The floral tributes were most beautiful and many were the remarks of esteem from the townspeople among whom he was born and passed 82 years of his life. Mr. Parker was a home lover and hospitable to a marked degree. Mr. and Mrs. Parker were married 65 years ago and resided at the home of his birth until six years ago. Rev. Joseph Herold conducted the service and Mrs. Lewis Mendall, Mrs. Frank Tuck and Mr. Walter Mower sang Rock of Ages and Nearer My God to Thee in fine voice. These two hymns were great favorites of Mr. Parker and were sung by the members of his fathers large family, the various parts being well rendered as every member of the family were singers. The out of town people attending were Mrs. George Herbert Johnson of New Milford, Conn., Mr. Horatio Parker of Brooklyn, N. Y., Mrs. Seth M. Carter, Mrs. Charles Conant, Mr. and Mrs. Seth May, Mrs. Charles Carter of Auburn, Mr. Lemuel Parker of Lewiston, Miss Abbie Parker of Leeds, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Merrill of Framingham, Mass.Endnotes
