Obituary
MURRELLS INLET, S.C. - Clayton L. Dow died Dec. 14, 2004, at his home. He was born April 5, 1928, in Houlton, the son of the late Llewellyn Luther and Electa Dickinson Dow. Mr. Dow was a World War II, U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 178. He was a retired machinist from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, Conn. Mr. Dow had been a Mason for 52 years, and was a member of Friendship Lodge No. 145 A.F. & A.M. in Manchester, Conn., and the Sphinx Temple Shrine in Newington, Conn., whree he was a proud member of the Drum Corps. Mr. Dow was a railroad buff and never met a person he did not like. He was known for his dry sense of humor and was loved by all who knew him. Mr. Dow especially enjoyed keeping in touch with BJHS classmates and attending their class reunions. Although rarely successful, he enjoyed hunting in the Maine woods each fall. Mr. Dow was predeceased by sisters, Marjorie Shear and Avory Clark. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Annette A. Dow; brother, Lawrence Dow and wife, Joan, of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; brother-in-law, Charles J. Abronze and wife, Theodora, of Enfield, Conn.; niece, Carolanne Cline of New York; and nephew, Galen Clark of Louisville, Ky. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Rockville, Conn.
