Obituary
OLD TOWN and SPRING HILL, Fla. - Arthur E. Dow formerly of Old Town, died peacefully March 25, 2014, in Spring Hill, Fla., with his brother Charles and sister-in-law Suzanne by his side. Arthur is the son of Celestine Dechene of St. Michel, Drummond, Canada, and Charles Dow of York, New Brunswick, Canada. He was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Old Town. He was predeceased by his sisters, Ann Bouchard, and Gladys Strout; and his brother, Lawrence Dow. Arthur was widowed by Madeline Varney Dow and Myrtle Franklin Dow. A veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Arthur was very proud to have served his country. His service medals were especially important to him. Arthur was awarded three Bronze Stars along with numerous other medals. He was a lifetime member of the DAV and the American Legion. He loved boating, traveling, and fishing which he so enjoyed during his last months. Arthur leaves his brother, Herbert Dow of Old Town, and sister-in-law, Barbara; brother, Charles Dow and sister-in-law, Suzanne, of Spring Hill, Fla.; along with two sisters, Lucinda Breau of Bangor, and Luella Hicks of Rogers, Ark.Endnotes
