Bio Note
"During the greater part of 1826 and 1827 he (meaning myself), was the junior of the two clerks employed in the city of Troy, N. Y., Post Office; the junior was a boy of 13. In 1828, or a part of that year, he was attending the academy in Cambridge, N. Y. The three succeeding years, he was either in school or assisting as clerk in one of the stores of the village. In 1832, he went into the Oswego Bank, at Oswego, N. Y., as book-keepr; afterward made teller, and in 1834, appointed cashier, which position he held until the bank closed its doors in 1843."Marriage
