The Pond & Hasey company was organized in 1892, and was the successor to Arthur A. Pond, who commenced business in 1870. The firm is capitalized for $30,000, fully paid up, and the stockholders and officers of the company are C. E. Hasey, Elijah Hasey and F. S. Spencer. The business of the Pond & Hasey company is the manufacture of hot-air furnaces and necessary fixtures, and the contracting for the installation of all classes of hot air, steam and hot-water heating plants. The company makes a specialty of heating and ventilating schoolhouses, courthouses, office buildings, and does a business of from $100,000 and $150,000 per year, and employs from 50 to 100 men, according to the season. Their work extends over Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Montana, Wisconsin and Iowa. This company in the exclusive agent in the northwest for the Magee steam and hot-water boilers and tank heaters - a line which is especially adapted to the warming of residences, apartment buildings, etc. At the company's salesrooms at 231-33 Fifth avenue S. two large floors are devoted to the display of a stock of heating goods and from three to five carloads of Magee furnaces and heaters are constantly on hand. Elijah Hasey, 80 years old, pioneer heating contractor of Minneapolis, died Monday at this home, 3200 First avenue south. He had been a resident of the city for more than 50 years, and until he retired 10 years ago was with the contracting firm of Pond & Hasey. He was a member of the Masonic lodge. Surviving him are his son, Arlington E. Hasey of Minneapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Russell Overlock of New York, and two brothers, Charles E. Hasey of Minneapolis and Ward Hasey of Boston.Funeral Notice
The funeral of Elijah Hasey, 80 years old, pioneer heating contractor of Minneapolis, who died Monday at this home, 3200 First avenue S. will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lakewood chapel. Mr. Hasey came to Minneapolis from Bangor, Maine, in 1878 and had been in active business until his retirement 10 years ago. He was a member of Ark lodge, A. F. & A. M., and of the West Side Commercial club. Surviving him are a son, Arlington E., Minneapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Russell F. Overlock, New York; and two brothers, Ward of Boston and Charles E. of Minneapolis.Funeral Notice
Funeral services for Elijah Hasey, pioneer heating contractor of Minneapolis, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, in Lakewood chapel, with burial in Lakewood cemetery. Mr. Hasey, who was 80 years old, died Monday at his home, 3200 First avenue south. He had been a resident of Minneapolis for more than 50 years and was active in the contracting business until his retirement in 1918.Endnotes
