Obituary
Funeral services for Miss Linnie J. Higgins, 74, who died Saturday after a period of failing health, were held Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 4, at the Crosby Funeral Home at Dexter. The Rev. A. Allan Brough of Fairfield, former pastor of the First Baptist Church of Dexter, officiated. Burial was in the family lot in the Higgins Cemetery, Corinna. She was born at Corinna, June 29, 1888, daughter of Clarence E. and May (Mower) Higgins. While spending her early life at the family's farm home in Corinna, she was educated in the schools of that town, was graduated from Corinna Union Academy, and taught school for a time at Corinna. In 1924 she moved, with her parents, to Dexter and devoted herself to their care until their decease. She spent five years at Dover-Foxcroft as companion to an elderly lady. Miss Higgins was interested in the activities of both the First Baptist Church of Dexter and the United Baptist Church, Dover-Foxcroft; and was a member of the Farm Bureau. For the past several months she had made her home with her sister on the Garland rd. Survivors are her sister, Mrs. Angie Percival of Dexter; a nephew, Richard E. Percival of Dayton, Ohio; two grand-nephews and a grand-niece.Endnotes
