Charles B. Eddy enlisted 30 August 1862 in Barre, Orleans County, New York for 3 years, receiving a bounty payment of $75. At the time of enlistment he was single, his parents were listed as Asel Eddy and Lucy Moore, and his occupation was as a sawyer. He was mustered on 9 September 1862 as a Private in Co. D, 151 New York Infantry. Charles was in the Campaign of Western Virginia in 1863. After the Battle of Gettysburg, the Company joined the Army of the Potomac. He was taken sick about 1 August 1863 with fever and diarrhea. He died in the Regimental Field Hospital near Bealeton Station, Virginia.Endnotes
