Obituary
CORINNA - Irving Leigh Packard, 88, died Feb. 2, 2003, at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born March 18, 1914, at Augusta the son of Harry and Nellie (Curtis) Packard. He graduated from Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1932 and was a lifelong dairy farmer in Corinna, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Corinna Senior Citizens, had attended the Corinna United Methodist Church and most recently, the Pleasant Street Christian Church. During retirement years, Irving enjoyed painting and bird carving. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and soul mate, Marion (Eastman) Holbrook Packard, June 3, 1995, as well as his cousins, Harvey Steward and Harold Curtis, both of Corinna, and Lawrence Tibbetts of Dexter. Irving is survived by a stepson and his wife, Morris and Bonnie Holbrook of Corinna; a sister-in-law, Lillian McPike of Corinna; two grandchildren, Todd Holbrook of Mount Desert, Kristina Holbook of St. Albans, and a great-grandchild, Brandon Lancaster of St. Albans. Irving is also survived by two step-granddaughters and their husbands, Teri and Justin Laforge of Liberty and Angela and Arnold Graham of Eddington; seven step-great-grandchildren, T.J. and Christopher Lancaster of Etna, A.J. and Aaron Graham of Eddington, and Sebastian, Noah, and Josie Laforge of Liberty. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, with the Rev. Edward Jaworski officiating. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 1 p.m. until the time of services. Spring burial will be in Nutter Cemetery, Corinna. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Birch Grove Nursing Care Facility, 18 Leighton St., Pittsfield, ME 04967 or the Pleasant Street Christian Church, 29 St. Albans Road, Corinna, ME 04928.Endnotes
