Obituary
Elizabeth L. "Betty" Kuhn, 86, of Rushville, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. Born March 15, 1917, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of Ralph A. and Sarah Mae (Richards) Folsom, both deceased. She married Dr. Irvin E. Kuhn on June 30, 1940; he preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1991. Mrs. Kuhn lived most of her life in Milroy, moving to Rushville in 1992. She was a 1935 graduate of Columbus North (Ohio) High School and a 1939 graduate of Ohio State University. While at OSU she was a member of the Alpha Phi Social Sorority, Phi Epsilon Omicron Professional Sorority, and the Omicron Nu Scholastic (Honorary) Sorority of Home Economists. She was a member of Milroy United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for more than 50 years. Her memberships included Modern Home Arts Home Ec Club in Milroy, past president of the Culture Club in Milroy, past president of the Extension Homemakers Club in Rush County, American Sewing Guild (of which she was the founder), and Eastern Star #471 of Milroy. She was a Rush County assistant home economist for many years, as well as an assistant to her husband at the Vet Clinic in Milroy. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Beth Bryant of Cape Cod, Mass., Margery Robertson of Sarasota, Fla., and Carole Peggs (and husband Dennis) of Rushville; four grandsons, Steven Robertson of Athens, W. Va., Jeffery Bryant of Fort Wayne, and John and Jay Peggs, both of Rushville; and one granddaughter, Karen (Bryant) Stacy (and husband Scott) of Middleton, N.Y. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville, with Pastor Phil Mitchell and Bill Worrell officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery in Rush County. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions are requested to the charity of the donor's choice.Endnotes
