Individual Details

Robert Franklin McCarter

(12 Aug 1876 - 16 Apr 1929)

Robert took over the family farm after Levi's death. The 1910 census shows that his household contained himself (age 32), his mother Evoline (age 69), his nephew Willie Shady McCarter (age 10), and their servant Laura Pierce (age 30). In the 1920 census Laura and Willie are still in Robert's household as his nephew and cook. Laura appears in the 1930 census as Laura McCarter, so she and Robert had married sometime between the 1920 census and his death in 1929. With her in this census are nephews Don Barton, 31 and Caroll Barton, 9.
