Elen Blevins Paisley, 96, of Christiansburg, Virginia, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2004 in the Radford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Radford, Va.
Mrs. Paisley, a daughter of William Adolphus and Mary Cordelia Blevins, was born October 29, 1907 in Grant, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Worth H. Paisley; her children, Lewis Paisley of Rocky Mount, Donald Paisley of Blacksburg, Helen P. Wilson of Newport News and Ted B. Paisley, Sr. of Radford.
Mrs. Paisley is survived by her grandchildren, Suzen P. and Dwight Flinchum of Lynchburg, David and Laurie Paisley of Indianapolis, Ind., Sharon Paisley of Rocky Mount, Ted and Elisabeth Paisley of Roanoke, Stephen Paisley of Blacksburg, Karen W. and David Hammond of Newport News, Christopher and Teresa Wilson of Newport News; ten great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Eugene Wilson of Newport News; daughter-in-law, Ann Paisley of Blacksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call anytime after 9 a.m. Sunday, March 21, 2004 at The Horne Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday evening. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, Va.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2004 at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Douglas Turnmire officiating. Interment will follow at Youngs Chapel Cemetery, Mouth of Wilson.
The family wishes to publicly acknowledge sincere thanks and gratitude to Frances Criner, Mrs. Paisley's long time sitter and caregiver, for the love, devotion, and superior care she gave to Mrs. Paisley during her final years. The Paisley family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg (540-382-2612) and Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence (276-773-2521).
