Janice Eva Buchanan

Janice Buchanan Lovelace, 76, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2005. She was born April 18, 1929 in Sugar Grove and was the daughter of the late Wilbur Carl and Eva Barton Buchanan.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert J. Lovelace; son and daughter in law, Bob and Cathy Lovelace of Kennesaw, Ga.; son, David Lovelace of Lorton, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Joseph Hylton of Salem, Va., Debra Lovelace and Charles Spencer of Roanoke, Va. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Joseph Hylton of Madison, Ky., Christin Lovelace of Blacksburg, Va. and Scott Lovelace of Kennesaw, Ga.; sister, Joan Choate of Marion, Va.; brothers-in-law, Don Lovelace, Salem, Va., and Grady Lovelace, Salem, Va.; sisters-in-law, Margaret Cressel, Marion, Va., Pat Pennington, Troutdale, Va., and Irene Taylor, Palatine, Ill.; and a very special friend, Virginia Bryant " Miss Virginia" and also by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janice was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church. Over the years, besides raising four children, she worked as an accounting and library assistant, and typist. She also worked as a caseworker with Veterans Affairs at the American Red Cross. She volunteered many hours with Hospice, the Republican Party, and serving her neighbors and those in nursing homes. Her favorite activities were Bible Study and finding great food recipes.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2005 at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Darryl G. Crim officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to North Roanoke Baptist Church, 6402 Peters Creek Rd. Roanoke, Va. 24019. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Oakey's North Chapel, 362-1237.
