Mrs. H. L. Smith is Dead

Chanute Woman, 28, Succumbs After Heart Attack

Mrs. Holbert L. Smith, 28 years old, died Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at her home, 410 North Steuben, following a heart attack. Mrs. Smith had not been ill previously.

Mrs. Smith, the former Wilda Row, was born July 12, 1912, at Macon, Neb. When a small chile she came to Kansas with her parents, locating in Chanute. In 1918, she went to California, returning about a year later to Chanute where she had since made her home.

She was married to Holbert L. Smith May 15, 1929, at Fredonia.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist church and the Hulda Parker chapter, O.E.S.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Basil Holbert, 21 months old, a brother, James Orville Row, and aunts, Mrs. Wiley Byers of Chanute and Mrs. Nettie McCoy of Anaheim, Cal.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Roy S. Gibson funeral home. The Rev. Lloyd E. Griffeth will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood.
