Obituary of Virginia Ella Harman Fields

Mrs. Virginia Harman Fields, 46, of Rt. 2, Tazewell, Va., died early Monday morning in a Richlands, Va., hospital following a long illness.

She was born in Tazewell, Va. daughter of the late Charlie P. and Flora Graybeal Harman. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Barnes-Beavers Post No. 7135.

Survivors include her husband, Rowland D. Fields Sr.; one daughter, Jeanne Lee Fields, and two sons, Gerald Monroe and Rowland D. Fields Jr., all of the home; one sister, Mrs. Frank Patterson of Tampa. Fla.; two brothers, D.B. Harman of Tazewell and C.P. Harman Jr. of Baltimore, Md.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. (EST) at Mount Pleasant Methodist Church at Maxwell, Va., with Rev. W.E. Mustard officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va.

Members of the VFW Auxiliary will have charge of honorary rites.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy St. Clair, Raymond Smith, Robert Butter, Richard Harman, Doy Matney and Jack Lockhart.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Friends may call the Peery and St. Clair Funeral Home of Tazewell after 3 P.M. today. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
