John Cole

(15 Jul 1644 - 6 Jan 1725)

John Cole held the title of lieutenant. He resided primarily at Eastham; was at Groton in 1672 but soon returned, probably driven out by Indians. He served on Plymouth Colony juries in 1667, 1676 and 1681. On 29 January 1714 John Cole of Eastham, yeoman conveyed to son Joseph Cole land at Harwich inherited from "my Honrd father Daniel Cole" in 1707.

The will of John Cole Sr. of Eastham dated 12 August 1717 and proved 13 January 1724 remembered "eldest son" John Cole Jr.; son Joseph; Ruth, Hephzebath, Hannah, Mary and Sarah "all my five natural daughters," the last three also referred to as "three of the youngest of my natural daughters."
