Funeral Rites Conducted for Emma Simer
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Simer, 75, were held at the Jones Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 23 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. P. Mills of the Four Square Gospel church officiating.
Mrs. Simer passed away in the Steele Memorial hospital on January 19.
She was born in Salmon, Idaho, on March 10, 1887, the daughter of Jasper and Emaline Elder and has spend practically all her life in Salmon. She grew up and received her education here and was married to Bert W. Simer on March 7, 1907 in Salmon.
She is survived by the following children: Ruth Raymond and Esther Waterman, both of Salmon; Eunice Keele or Boise; Burton, of Goldhill, Oregon; Emma Lolley, James and Paul, all of Portland, Oregon; Ben, of Redding, California; Lois Jones of Fairfield, Idaho; and Betty Micheletti of Denver, Colorado; and also one brother, Arthur Elder, of Wenatchee, Washington. One daughter preceded her in death and her husband died two years ago. There are also 24 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Two vocal duets were sung by Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Cavaness. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased.
Burial took place in the Shoshone cemetery at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Winkler officiating.
