He served as a Little League football coach, on the Miami County Fair Board, Miami County Extension Council, Miami County Angus Association, Miami County Herd Improvement Association, K-WORC’S State Board, Louisburg FFA Advisory board, Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He was honored to be able to serve in the National Guard and joined Nov. 13, 1964.
He enjoyed many types of work including Louisburg Grain, Chemagro, Purina Salesman, Miami County Feed and Seed, and as Miami County Commissioner for 12 years retiring in 2015. He particularly loved raising Purebred Black Angus cattle on their farm for many years west of Louisburg.
