John Betts was the 2nd husband of widow Abigail Smith Adams. John married 1st Abigail Eldrekin in 1660, maybe in Hartford, Ct. Abigail was a schoolteacher who said Christ was a bastard, blasphemy, she was set to be hung, defended by Thomas Burnham, she wasn't hung, she and John tried to work it out couldn't he was given a divorce then Married widow Adams.
