Herodias Long
(1623 - 1722)
FAG Allegedly after Herod received an inheritance from her mother's family, John abandoned her and disappeared with her inheritance.
In May 1645, Herod entered a common law marriage with a neighbor, George Gardiner. They had 3 children, and Herod was pregnant with a 4th, when John Hicks reappeared and accused her of adultery. After her 1st divorce, Herod formally married George in June 1645 and had a total of nine children before she became a Quaker and, 5 May 1665, petitioned to divorce George as well. By 1673 Herod had entered a third marriage with Quaker John Porter. She died in Rhode Island in 1722.
